It's not by chance that LaCascia's Bakery and Deli is recognized throughout the local area as the place to go for the finest breads, cold cuts and baked goods. Dedication and commitment to quality has been engrained in this business from the start.

In 1926 Italian immigrants Peter and Phyllis LaCascia opened a small bread bakery/convenience store in East Boston, MA to cater to the needs of their Italian neighbors.

After experiencing much success and realizing their natural talent for the business, 1929 saw another undertaking for the couple when they purchased a building in Medford, MA and moved their operation to a family neighborhood.

Although times were hard and the great depression was taking its toll on the country, their hard work and focus on quality products and personal family service carried them through those trying economic times.

Through the fifties, sixties, and seventies business thrived and more product lines were added to the operation including a full service deli that specialized in imported Italian cold cuts. Staying on the cutting edge of what the market needed and in line with their demand for high quality, LaCascia's was one of the first Boston area stores to carry the Boars Head brand of cold cuts.

In 1980, Anthony, the youngest of the 5 LaCascia children, took the business to the next level by opening a store in Burlington MA. "LaCascia's Bakery II" took the same approach as the original Medford store by offering personal customer service and stocking the shelves with premium quality products. Working with the reputation that LaCascia's had come to gain and expanding on it, Anthony broadened his base of expertise and launched a full service bakery specializing in authentic Italian pastry previously only available closer to Boston.

Today LaCascia's Bakery and Deli continues to offer exceptional quality products while still maintaining the personal level of service that has been a key part of their success since day one. "I'm grateful to my family for having the vision to start this business," Anthony explains, "I am also fortunate to have my three children, Renee, Anthony and David along with my son-in-law, Chris invested with me in the business and confident that we will not only continue to serve the public with what people have come to expect from LaCascia's but will continue to enhance what we have. Our goal is to not only meet, but exceed expectations. This has been a trait of the LaCascia name – we have no intention of changing that."
